The Slovenian Maritime Administration organized CISE-ALERT national event and demonstrated first wider use of CISE services during international exercises at sea, Adriatic Sea SARex exercise 2024

On the 30 of September 2024 in parallel with the Adriatic Sea SARex exercise 2024, the Ministry of Infrastructure, Slovenian Maritime Administration, partner in the CISE-ALERT project, organized CISE-ALERT national event. The focus of the event was to present the CISE-ALERT project outcomes and operational use of the CISE services, developed during the project to the identified target groups - members of the Maritime Safety Permanent Transnational Network and its operating Thematic working group on e-Navigation. Meetings of the mentioned network are held on the basis of the Memorandum of cooperation which was signed in June 2023 by all maritime administrations of the Adriatic-Ionian (AI) region: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Greece, Italy, Montenegro and Slovenia. This act is considered historical, as for the first time all named countries have signed such kind of document. It significantly increased the possibilities for further development and improvements in the field of the maritime safety through enhanced data and information exchange of the maritime administrations located in the AI area. Raising awareness on the CISE among the mentioned relevant stakeholders, especially in the North Adriatic Sea basin, presents essential meaning for the Ministry of Infrastructure, Slovenian Maritime Administration.

On the 1st and 2nd of October 2024, Ministry of Infrastructure, Slovenian Maritime Administration together with the European Maritime Safety Agency and European Fisheries Control Agency organised the Adriatic Sea SARex exercise 2024. The exercise area was set up in the North Adriatic Sea basin. Actively involved participants ware representatives of the European Maritime Safety Agency, the European Border and Coast Guard Agency, the European Fisheries Control Agency and representatives of the three North Adriatic neighbouring countries the Italian Coast Guard, the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Croatia and the Slovenian Maritime Administration. In parallel with the exercise on the sea, CISE related activities, as connectivity tests and communication activities, were conducted with Italian Coast Guard, European Fisheries Control Agency and European Maritime Safety Agency. The scenario of the Protection of critical maritime infrastructure that was developed within the CISE-ALERT project, was used and upgraded with integration of information about risk in the area where maritime critical infrastructure is located. Within the exercise, other three operational services were used in most extensive CISE trial to date.
